Description

This 2015 set of four different $20 fine silver Looney Tunes™ coins features selectively coloured images of four of our favourite cartoon characters: Sylvester, Bugs, Daffy and Tweety.  The mere mention of Looney Tunes sparks memories of sitting in front of the television on a Saturday morning, and reminds us of the simple pleasures of laughing at the antics of our familiar animated friends.  The four coins come presented in an attractive solid wood case, together with a free bonus high quality wrist watch featuring all four characters appearing on the coins.  The mintage of this set is only 12,500.  HST/GST exempt.

Bugs Bunny $20 Fine Silver Coin:
This coin brings to life a scene from the classic “Duck Season / Wabbit Season” trilogy of cartoons. In the foreground, Bugs Bunny happily emerges from his warren, marked with his iconic “B. Bunny” mailbox.  But trouble looms as Elmer Fudd approaches in his hunting clothes. The interaction between the two is often witty and always intensely entertaining.

Daffy Duck $20 Fine Silver Coin:

If it’s not Wabbit Season, it must be Duck Season.  The dapper Daffy Duck appears on this coin with an animated look of self-satisfaction as he fixes his bright red bowtie. However, trouble is clearly brewing. The sign in front of Daffy reads “Duck Season”, while the indomitable hunter Elmer Fudd awaits Daffy in the background.

Tweety Bird $20 Fine Silver Coin:
The world’s most recognized and lovable little yellow canary is featured on this coin.  While the coin itself makes no noise, we all know Tweety is saying “I tawt I taw a puddy tat…".  He did see a puddy tat! There, just reaching in on the right side of the image, is Sylvester’s outstretched paw as the persistent alley cat tries to ensnare his feathered foe.

Sylvester $20 Fine Silver Coin:
On this coin, Sylvester is seen with a rascally expression as he quietly peers up from the bottom edge of the image field.  Sylvester is clearly plotting to capture his favourite target, Tweety, who swings happily in his cage apparently oblivious to Sylvester’s never-satisfied hunger for the little bird.
