This 2016 selectively coloured fine silver $10 coin has been designed to showcase the fun Canadians can have when the weather gets cold and snow covers our fields and hills.  Struck in just over a half ounce of fine silver, the design features a family enjoying a trip down the toboggan slope on a winter day.  Mintage is limited to just 7,500 coins. HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

The design by Canadian artist Maurade Baynton captures a family of four dressed in their warmest snow gear. With a scarf draped over his mouth and chin to protect against the cold wind, a young child sits at the front of the wooden toboggan; behind him, his rosy-cheeked sister as they slowly gather momentum. Mother and father sit at the rear holding the family pet. They excitedly look ahead with broad smiles in anxious anticipation. Vibrant colour recreate the pure white freshly-fallen snow.
