This 2014 $10 Fine Silver Maple Leaf coin is a tribute to Canada’s iconic symbol, inspired by the timeless design that has graced Canada’s one-cent circulation coin since 1937. Canada’s iconic maple leaf stands as a symbol of our national pride in the great country that has been shaped collectively by all Canadians past and present. The Design:

Your coin was designed by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc, and depicts three silver maple (Acer saccharinum) leaves. With their edges slightly furled, these leaves are positioned in a way that evokes memories of a beautiful autumn day in Canada – it is easy to imagine these leaves gently falling from the majestic silver maple tree onto the ground below. In the foreground, the largest leaf lies on its side as it stretches across the image field; its longpetiole rests overtop the smaller, downward-facingleaf at far left. The large leaf’s bottomleft lobe overlaps the base of a third leaf behindit. Beautiful engraving adds depth to the image byshowcasing the silver maple’s deeply cut veins and serrate leaf margins.
