The 2013 silver proof issues sees the return of a seated design for the silver Britannia. 2013 also marks the first year for the new denomination, a silver proof twentieth ounce coin with a face value of 10 pence. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Her Majesty the Queen with the legal tender value of each coin below the portrait, in use since 1998, as with all British coins, the obverse design changed to the "fourth portrait", showing a more mature likeness of The Queen.
The 2013 silver proof issue is designed by Robert Hunt and features Britannia seated with her head tilted to one side whilst an owl perches on her lap.
