It's no accident the Rat is the first sign in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Nobody knows exactly what transpired when Buddha summoned all the animals to his side before his death, but the Rat obviously got there first. That is the rat's personality - crafty to a fault. The rat is exceedingly talented at spotting an opportunity and taking advantage of it. He excels in business and knows how to "work a room" to get the information he needs. To that end, he can be painfully inquisitive and intrusive, but does it in such an honest and straightforward way, everyone is caught off guard.

The rat is remarkably easy to get along with. He cares sincerely about others. Hardworking and thrifty, he doesn't part easily with his money.
