As one of the most popular sports in Canada and around the world, the Royal Canadian Mint has chosen to celebrate the game of baseball with this limited edition pure gold $150 proof coin. The coin marks the 2013 World Baseball Classic tournament and pays tribute to both the spirit of competition and international cooperation.  The coin weighs just over one half ounce of pure gold and is limited to just 3,500 pieces worldwide.  As a pure gold coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt.

The Design:

The design features a stylized baseball player layered over an abstract circling form that symbolizes the speed and skill which are essential to the game.  The outer frame is engraved with the date "2013," and the face value of "150 DOLLARS."
