As one of the most popular sports in Canada and around the world, the Royal Canadian Mint celebrates the game of baseball with four different limited edition pure silver $20 proof coins.  The designs feature the “Hitter”, “Fielder”, “Pitcher” and “Runner” positions. Each officially licensed silver coin in the series is double struck in pure .9999 fine silver with a near flawless frosted cameo proof finish.  Mintages are limited to just 7,500 for each coin.  As pure silver coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, these coins are HST/GST exempt.  

The Designs:

“Hitter” Design:

This coin features a stylized baseball batter in a classic pose. Having made contact with the ball, the batter completes the arc of his swing—arms, hands, and bat fully extended, right leg twisting behind as his left leg supports a swing of exceptional power. This figure is layered over an abstract circling form that symbolizes the event's speed, skill and international inclusiveness. The batter is flanked on the right side by the official logo of the World Baseball Classic tournament. 

“Fielder” Design:

This coin features a stylized baseball fielder in a classic uniform and well-known bent-over pose, gloved right arm extended before him and left leg kicking back behind as he lunges for a ground ball. This figure is layered over an abstract circling form that symbolizes the event's speed, skill and international inclusiveness. He is flanked on the right side by the official logo of the World Baseball Classic tournament. 

“Pitcher” Design:

This coin features a stylized baseball pitcher in a classic pose, right arm extended behind him, gloved left hand curled toward his torso, extended right behind him as his left leg braces to support a throw of exceptional speed. This figure is layered over an abstract circling form that symbolizes the event's speed, skill and international inclusiveness. He is flanked on the right side by the official logo of the World Baseball Classic tournament. 

“Runner” Design:

This coin a stylized baseball runner, in classic uniform and helmet, with his arms and legs pumping as he rounds the bases. This figure is layered over an abstract circling form that symbolizes the event's speed, skill and international inclusiveness. The runner is flanked on the right side by the official logo of the World Baseball Classic tournament.
