This beautiful $20 colour fine silver “Majestic Elk” coin is a continuation of the extremely popular low mintage Majestic Animals series that includes the Iconic Polar Bear, Majestic Moose, Bighorn Sheep, Misty Morning Mule Deer, and Imposing Alpha Wolf.  This latest coin is one of the lowest mintage issues in the series and one of the lowest mintage $20 silver coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint in recent years, and will likely be one of the most elusive for future collectors to find. The coin is double struck with the Royal Canadian Mint’s highest quality proof finish, and weighs just over one full ounce of .9999 fine silver. Mintage is limited to 6,500 coins. As a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is HST / GST exempt. 

The Design:

The reverse image by Canadian artist Maurade Baynton features a timeless portrait of an elk. Here, the majestic elk armed with impressive antlers, that give it a stately air, moves through the wilderness with a steady confidant gait, as it browses through the vegetation that sustains it through the seasons.
