The Design:

The reverse of the $1 coin in this specimen set depicts the blue jay enjoying a beautiful sunny day in a natural setting. Viewed from the rear, its distinctive spotted plumage along its wings and broad tail are prominently displayed. Always inquisitive, the blue jay has its head turned to the right, which affords the viewer a glimpse of its facial features and distinctive crest atop the blue jay's head.
