This 2015 fine silver “fractional” coin set features five different sizes and denominations of matched .9999 pure silver coins with a unique maple leaf design. The sizes are 1 ounce, ½ ounce, ¼ ounce 1/10th ounce and 1/20th ounce. The coins bear a face value of $5, $4, $3, $2 and $1 respectively. Mintage of this set is limited to 9,999.  As a pure silver coin set struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt. 

The Design:

For the first time ever, the Royal Canadian Mint has utilized an incuse design to create coins with a flat field on the surface and an engraved design.  Each coin features a “reverse image” design by Canadian artist Lilyane Coulombe that depicts a sugar maple leaf surrounded by a decorative scroll. The design is struck into a frosted field so that the texture of the leaf is imprinted beneath the surface of the coin. The one-ounce coin in this set has been also been accented with a rich red translucent enamel that fills the entire maple leaf.
