This $10 coin is the first coin in a three coin series Reflections of Wildlife and features the grizzly bear. This series celebrates Canada’s natural beauty through depictions of a contemplative moment in the wild. The coin is just over a half ounce of fine silver, and has a mintage limited to 15,000.  As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt. 

The Design:

The image by Canadian artist Maurade Baynton showcases the grizzly at the water`s edge, with an alpine forest behind it.   The grizzly has stepped beyond the rocky shore and into the water, sending ripples through the mirror-like surface.  It`s characteristic hump is prominent as the animal lowers its head, seemingly gazing at its reflection in the water. The design includes special finishes that enhances the reflection on the water`s surface.
