A celebration of Ukrainian-Canadian culture, this 2019 $250 Easter egg-shaped piece is our first all-gold (99.99% pure) pysanka coin. kind. It features our most complex pysanka design yet, with very finely engraved details that add up to a powerful blessing bestowed upon all Canadians, and especially its recipient. Mintage is limited to 250 coins. HST/GST exempt.

The Design:

Designed by artist Dave Melnychuk, the pysanka-themed reverse is an eternal blessing for all Canadians, represented by a wooden temple that is a welcoming symbol of community. Several bands representing eternity frame the multi-tiered church. An inner band of dots and waves reflect Canada’s motto, “A Mari Usque Ad Mare” (“From Sea to Sea”). On the outer band, compass-like stars are paired with upended squares that represent the earth. The face value “250 DOLLARS”, the year “2019” and the word “CANADA” are engraved in a font reminiscent of traditional carvings. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

The reverse design is more complex than ever. Even the smallest symbolic details shine, thanks to meticulous engraving and a luminous proof finish.
