This 2020 $5 proof fine silver August birthstone coin is the eighth coin in a series that features a sparkling Swarovski® crystal at the centre, flanked by three smaller clear Swarovski® crystals and surrounded by a Celtic art-inspired design. The coin is dated 2020 with a $5 denomination and weighs just over one quarter ounce of pure silver. Adding to its collectability, the mintage is extremely limited to just 5,000. HST/GST exempt.
The Design:
The reverse design by artist Pandora Young is an intersection of art and mathematics, and features a stylized pattern arranged according to the base-six system. Inspired by the Celtic triskele, the engraved art incorporates three clear Swarovski® crystals into our birthstone celebration of those born in August (peridot), as represented by the gem-like Swarovski® crystal at the centre of the coin. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Although peridot is one of the few gems to occur in just one colour, its green hue may vary from yellow-green to olive. This birthstone symbolizes strength and power. It also brings friendship, influence and protection to those born in August.
