To mark the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Royal Canadian Mint turned Alex Colville’s centennial celebration of Canada into a six-part centennial celebration of the artist. This one tenth ounce pure gold 1 cent coin features the artist’s design for the 1967 Centennial 1-cent circulation coin. The rock dove is associated with spiritual values and peace and is featured in 99.99% pure gold. Mintage is limited to just 1,200 coins, including both subscriptions and single coins. GST/HST exempt.

The Design:

The reverse re-creates Canada’s 1967 Centennial one-cent coin design by artist Alex Colville and features a front profile view of a rock dove in flight. The reverse also features the engraved face value “1 CENT”, the word “CANADA” and the date “2020”. The obverse features the second effigy (1965-1989) of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin.
