This commemorative bookmark featuring a special issue 2006 coloured quarter coin and lapel pin, in support of a future without breast cancer.  The Royal Canadian Mint has taken a leading role in the campaign to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer with the release of this Pink Ribbon coin. 

The Pink Ribbon has been described as "a dramatic symbol of hope for Canadians who will be diagnosed with breast cancer, with the hope that one day no family will lose a loved one to breast cancer."  Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian woman with one in nine expected to get the disease within their lifetime.
