Dark toning creates a dramatic effect in this 1893 Victorian five cent strike. The coins original mint lustre is accented by gun-metal toning overall, with darker hues found around the perimeter, highlighting the relief images. Intricate details of the relief design remain in excellent condition, with fine features noted throughout the monarch portrait and Queen Victorias laurel crown, as well as the detailed venation in the reverse maple leaves. An outstanding coin with only one example graded finer by ICCS (4/11).
